Fired Up
Some of the Obama babies have been sniping at gays for pushing their leader to live up to his promises. A few of these toadies have even posted ad hominem attacks on Cleve Jones, Harvey Milk’s right-hand man during the first national equality march thirty years ago. I figure it’s time to call Obama and his sycophants to account. For starters, if you haven’t watched the videos on the Equality Across America website, it’s time you did. Then we can have an intelligent discussion based on fact, not the fear-mongering by Democratic Party pundits.
Jones’ speech at the Salt Lake City gay pride clears up the nonsense. Gays and civil rights enthusiasts were fired up by the movie Milk, and energized by the battle against bigotry in the form of LDS-sponsored California Prop 8. As Cleve elucidates in the interviews, when the movement is fired up, you mobilize. This time, for full equality under all civil laws in all 50 states.
And there’s only one place you can do that. It’s called the National Mall.
White Power Tripping
In an article on the Blacklight website, author Sidney Brinkley writes:
It’s a new century with a new president elected on the promise of change. However, in the Gay movement it’s the same White people with the same message to Black Gays: We lead. You follow.
Here’s my 21st century response: Fuck That!

As Criticism of Obama Mounts within Gay Community, Gay Rights Pioneer Cleve Jones Calls for March for Equality on Washington
From Democracy Now!
On Wednesday, President Barack Obama signed a memorandum to extend some, but not all, benefits to same-sex partners of federal employees. Comprehensive healthcare, for example, is not included. President Obama’s promise to work to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act, or DOMA, Wednesday came one week after his administration filed a controversial legal brief supporting DOMA, an action which greatly disappointed activists fighting for marriage equality. We speak with Cleve Jones, one of the giants of the gay rights and AIDS awareness movements. He is the founder of the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt and the co-founder of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. In the 1970s, Cleve Jones was a friend of the gay rights leader Harvey Milk.
Interracial Marriage BANNED
Interracial Marriage BANNED
November 7, 2012
By Bob Maschi
Interracial marriage bans on state ballots across the country were approved by voters yesterday. This follows the bans on gay marriage implemented four years ago, in 2008, in several states. Left undecided by the votes is the status of the hundreds of thousands of interracial couples who had formerly been married. Legal experts predict that these relationships may revert to some form of ‘civil union’.
The bans, which prohibit members of different races from marrying, were strongly supported by the Republican Party and social conservatives. While many Democrats were against the measures, Democratic Party leadership distanced itself from the issue fearing that it would cost them votes and possibly imperil their dwindling congressional majority.
A spokesperson for the Peace and Freedom Party, which vigorously opposed the bans, stated that no matter how many votes they lost or how many racists were offended they would continue to stand on the side of civil rights.
