The Fresno County Peace and Freedom Party was founded on November 4, 2004 with the appointment of a County Central Committee chairperson by the State Central Committee. Though individuals in Fresno County have been active in the Peace and Freedom Party since its formation, it is unknown if there was any formal organization here prior to that date.
The current Fresno County Central Committee consists of three members elected at the Primary election on June 3, 2008. They are Monica Beach, Georgia Williams, and John Crockford. At its meeting on July 9, 2008, the Fresno County Central Committee elected Monica Beach as its chairperson. Fresno County is a part of the San Joaquin Valley Chapter of the Peace and Freedom Party. The San Joaquin Valley Chapter of the Peace and Freedom Party was created by resolution of the State Central Committee on the 25th of February, 2007.
